The team at Schmidke Construction prides itself in delivering perfection in every detail while producing a custom finished project with minimal disruption to a client’s lifestyle.

Collaborating with the appropriate individuals for a custom project is just as important as sourcing the appropriate building products. SCC clients benefit from working with a local General Contractor who has established relationships with a team of professionals specializing in real estate, engineering, architecture, design, trades, and financing.

Creating custom spaces unique to each client is an exciting and a very personal experience. Schmidke Construction & Contracting understands personal journeys as owner Joshua Schmidke built the business at a very young age out of hard work, earned knowledge, and high expectations.

SCC was established in 2001 but long before that, Joshua set out with his father, a plumbing contractor, on job sites as a young child. He became an apprentice, learning more about the business from each subcontractor and general contractor and eventually secured his Journeyman license in plumbing. After almost two decades of being exposed to the trades, Joshua broke into custom residential construction and built his first home at the age of 24.

In addition to serving the local community’s youth sports, he is a member of the National Association of Home Builders, an NAHB Builder 20 club, and the Home Builders Association of Southwestern Michigan where he served on the Board of Directors for 9 years. He continues to be active in the industry with his finger on the pulse of the latest trends along with new state and federal building regulations affecting past, existing, and potential future clients.
