AGENCIES and special permitting

The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, or EGLE requires special permitting in critical dune areas. Similarly special considerations and joint permitting may be required by the Army Corps of Engineers.

While homeowners can apply for permits, it’s important to note that leaning on a build team who has experience with the process and relationships with the agencies can save time and money in the long run.
